Obituary for Jeffrey David Roberts
Jeffrey David Roberts, 49, of Covington, KY passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Jeff is survived by his loving parents: father, Bob Roberts (Nancy), mother, Sue Gregory (nee: King) (Vern), his beloved sister: Robin Fee (David), his dear nephew: Kyle Elliott (Brianna), his great-nephew: Hudson Elliott, his special friends: Mike Eisle, Stella Hall, Linda Campbell, and Mindy Rowlett, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jeff fought a good fight and kept the faith and a good attitude through his fight with pain from stage-4 bone cancer. He would be suffering and say thank you Jesus. Jeff talked so often how he loved his family and how blessed we were. He had a close and loving relationship with his sister and called her sissy. And his special friend Linda Campbell that was in his life for many years. He loved nature, sky, flowers, birds, all animals, except like his mom didn't care for snakes. He also enjoyed spending time with his father Bob Roberts, especially their trips in the country exploring and fishing. His favorite holiday was Christmas were he would always decorate, even if it was a tall houseplant like he recently did. He had a knack for decorating and loved to cook. Jeff was of the protestant faith and attended Cornerstone church in Covington. He loved Pastor Mike and all his church family that have shared love and support through out this journey. His heart was for the less fortune. For many years he was a long distant truck driver and he loved being on the road and seeing different parts of the country. His most recent job with TANK fulfilled the driving desire plus meeting new people. His TANK friends became family even in his short stay before the diagnosis. Thank you to his supervisor Kevin Unkraut who stayed in touch and would often visit as well as his co-worker and good friend Ashley Thomas to see if he needed anything. Jeff was also very thankful for his Doctors especially the love and support of Dr. Markwell. Later in his illness the Hospice staff became like family. Especially his home care nurse Joanie Fox. His family is also grateful for all the care from Hospice. Also special thanks to his neighbor and friend Stella Hall who loved, watched over, and cared for him, which got her the nickname “Guardian Angel”. Jeff touched so many people and if you read some of the post on his Facebook page you will see how he touched others life's. He was humbled by all the love, and would often speak of how so many people that he never met in person were so loving. We will all miss you so much son especially your Mom that was your best friend. Until that wonderful reunion, in loving memory of a wonderful son that loved God, family and friends. A visitation will be held for Jeff on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 10am until 12pm at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 West 6th Street, Covington, KY 41011. A service will be held following the visitation at 12pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be handled following the service at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH.
