Richard “Dicky” Farrar, age 75, left us on Monday, December 31st, 2018 to rest peacefully in heaven. He was surrounded by family at his home in New Liberty, KY.

Dicky was born August 20th, 1943 to William “Bill” and Virginia “Dot” Farrar in Sparta, KY.
Dicky loved to spend time with his family and loved ones. He kept busy with his love for hunting and fishing, farming, watching Westerns, and fixing cars and things around the house. Dicky served as Dog Warden of Gallatin County for many years. Throughout his life he was also a city cop in Sparta and in Sanders, a constable, a farmer, a mechanic, and held various other jobs.
He leaves behind two brothers, James “Jimmy” Farrar and William “Bobby” Farrar, both of Sparta. And a large, loving family of 6 children: Richard II, Michael Shawn, and Angie Farrar of New Liberty, KY; Shelly (Charles) Donnelly of Sparta; Misty (Nathan) Carson of Bedford, KY; and Ruth Mercer of Berry, KY; 18 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Sparta Baptist Church in Sparta, KY on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 at 1 pm. Visitation starts at 11 am. A scattering of his ashes will take place at a later date among family.
