Matthew Raymond Switzer, 51, of Newport, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Born on December 8, 1967 in Ft. Thomas, KY, Matthew was the son of Marilyn and the late Kenneth Switzer. He worked as a cobbler for Mount Lookout Shoe Repair for over 25 years. He was an avid UK, Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Matthew will always be remembered as a kind-hearted man who tried to make everyone happy with his contagious smile and wonderful personality. In addition to his father, Matthew was preceded in death by his brother: Michael K. Switzer. Matthew is survived by his loving mother: Marilyn Ann Horn Switzer; daughter: Bridget Miles; sister: Melodie Switzer Hubig; brother: Mark Switzer and wife Maureen; nieces: Nikki Bennett and Jaqueline Switzer; nephews: Michael Switzer, Doug Bennett, Josh Switzer, Jeremy Switzer, Nate Switzer and Jacob Switzer and 3 great-nephews. A Visitation will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 3:00 P.M. until the Funeral Service at 5:00 P.M. at Newport Church of God, 401 Keturah Street, Newport, KY 41071. So sorry to hear this. I have so many memories. You was a good person and friend. We could talk for hours and even if we went for a long time with out talking if we ran into each other we would just pick up where we left off. You will be missed by so many. So hard to believe this is happening. I mean it doesn't seem real. I am so sorry to the whole entire family for your loss. This has been a very hard time for all but I pray God will touch each and everyone's heart to help with this pain.
