Olive (Ollie) Ann Fortier, age 77, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2019, after a hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer. Ollie was born to the late George and Jennie Perkins in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1942. She graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, and she proudly and compassionately devoted her life to helping others as a registered nurse. Ollie retired from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital systems in Erlanger, KY. Ollie was married for 27 years to her former spouse Michael Fortier, who preceded her in death. Ollie will be lovingly remembered by their 5 children Sean (Cheryl) Fortier, Kimberly (Steve) Newman, Julie (John V.) Fortier, Joseph Fortier, Andrea (Mark) Babin, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves 3 siblings, Robert (Lois) Perkins, Charles Perkins, and Jane (Clyde) Richardson. Ollie lived her life with an innate positivity which emanated to all whom she touched, and she would take solace in friends and family fondly recounting times they have shared. The family would like to express their gratitude for the kindness and care provided by the staff of the St. Elizabeth Cancer Care and the staff and volunteers of the Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth. A celebration of life event will be scheduled in Northern Kentucky during the spring/summer of 2020 for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) in memory of Ollie.
